Hello visitors, I am M.O. Valent, a hobbyist science fiction writer, and at moment also a chemical engineering student.
My objective is to help other people to get started into writing feasible science-fiction - with what I've learned in the way, I hope to break down some questions and lay down the foundation you may need to do proper science-fiction.
Other than supplying interesting questions with answers and tools - this blog is home to Project Paart, an initiative to build an alien planet from scratch using science and imagination, as a way to provide an example on how you can interlink several factors in your favor when writing and worldbuilding.
Most of other well known sci-fi writers like Arthur C. Clarke (inventor), Isaac Asimov (biochemist) and Wernher von Braun (rocket scientist), were in their life-time also scientists of some sort.
Which doesn't mean you need a PhD in Astrophysics or Biology to write sci-fi, but as you will see over time, as the name suggests, SCIENCE-Fiction needs some actual science to be credible.
I have learned a lot from my work and acquired knowledge about physics, geology, bio-mechanics and biochemistry, that I am actually re-building my early childhood stories into real sci-fi, so as long as this blog goes, we both will learn about our creations and the path to tactile worlds in our stories whatever they might be.
So, if math and imagination are not your monsters, lets do some science-fiction!
