QIRO-ARRENE WARS, 14,000 - 14,649 CE
"Wars" is a very strong term here, inspite of what the Arrene would lead you to believe, this was a catastrophic level of territorial, material, and personal loss.
14,000 - 14,205, fall of Forzai, Festar and Thosuo
It is not only possible, but certain that the Qire knew of the Arrene for a long time, having possibly crept on them all the way out from Sutirte, at least 112 light-years away from Forzai, just 42 light-years from home.
The Elder Starship, later dubbed 'Omicron', enact a first-strike with a single relativistic missile against the colony of Far Haven. Over 97% of all planetary assets lost. The Luminary Combine immediately evacuates the system and declares it "lost with all hands", maximum state of emergence is installed.
The emergence signal reaches the colonies of Festar and Thosuo, the preparation phase for a potential other attack lasts about 50 years. Until finally, 150 years after the first attack, the Elder Starship, Omicron, shows up at Festar. It receives little damage from the battery fire before obliterating Festar with two RKVs, then 'teleporting' away into deep space. Another 50 years pass between this, and the destruction of the colony at Thosuo.
At this point, the Arrene realized they couldn't possibly afford to chase the Elder Starship, and even if they somehow managed to destroy it, they didn't possess any means of warding off any other threats of the kind. The Luminary Combine, then decides to focus all of its mining industry on the fabrication of Penetrator Mines, deploying them across interstellar space, and the vicinity of its protected worlds. Over the course of a dozen decades, known space becomes a minefield filled with needles projected to obliterate relativistic travelers, unless they fly across designated starlanes in between stars. The oldest Starlanes date back to this period in history.
14,237 - 14,254, fall of Omicron and Endreka
Omicron is destroyed by penetrator mines while trying to enter space around Endreka. The greatest Arrene victory, in the conflict against the Qire. However, it is accompanied by Lambda, Nu, and Tau, which slow down and navigate space around the system until managing to force entrance while damaged. Endreka is ultimately lost after arrene defenses were exausted from deterring incoming projectiles.
Lambda stays behind, while Nu and Tau dive into the system under fire, exausting the debris field around Endreka through sheer vaporization caused by relativistic impacts. Lambda and Nu leave the system together while Tau shoots down resistance with conventional nuclear weapons across the system.
14,340 - 14,356, fall of Nizel
Nu is sent to destroy Nizel alone, and almost fails to enter and hit Nizel at all through the shells of debri around the planet. Exhausting its barrel and getting nuked several times while firing at a nearby moon colony. Still manages to neutralize the Arrene presence.
Lambda is seen suffering similar damages at Kaegaels and its outer system defenses, it misses two shots entirely out of trajectory, two more were needed to punch through the defenses. Its barrel was then pointed at interplanetary defenses for the remaining of the short conflict.
14,340 - 14,648, operation whil-o'-whisp
The Elder Starships bracktrack colonies they've attacked before, and are seen jumping in between random star systems. Note that the Arrene have since tried to hide from the Qire the rumors started over 400 years ago now. The Arrene realize the Qire have absolutely no clue which of those worlds is their homeworld, hence their initial reactions. They hope to divert attention with stealth ships and probes created to simulate interstellar activity far away from Argost, and thus lure them into minefields.
Lambda and Tau are grazed by mines. Tau is beyond repair and destroyed by the Qire themselves to avoid capture. Smaller Qire warships are rumored to have been spotted or detected by probes in interstellar space, possibly in an attempt to avoid probabilistic collision with said mines. Nevertheless, they eventually stumble upon Argost.
14,649- 14,650, battle of Argost
Alpha, Lambda, Upsilon and Theta show up to the Aa Rithel system. The home fleet is given little more than a month to brace for impact. Lambda stays behind while decelerating first, exausting its gun barrel against the penetrator mines surrouding the star system in order to open passage. Theta and Upsilion stop along the way obliterating all active defensive positions with both main weapons and nukes. Alpha fires its payload but misses through sheer bad luck. Only two missiles hit Argost. The Arrene Combine stops resisting and informally surrenders in 14,650 CE.
The Qire present at the time, aboard four Elder Starships in system, for some reason decide upon the non-annihilation of the Luminary Combine. Declaring their famous "Halt claw, halt foot. Failure, undone." terms of surrender., which the Arrene unanimously accept, but might need a few years to figure out what does it mean to them.
14,655, Treaty of Forzai
The Treaty of Forzai officially establishes the Dominion as a collaborative framework enforced by the Arrene, overwatched by the Qire. Also signed by the witness insterstellar nations of man. Alpha stays behind stationed over Argost while the other Elder Starships scatter.
By proxy, the humans and the Ygiv peoples are freed and added to the Dominion as extra-signatary races. It still will take over a century before Argost can be re-terraformed by Arrene survivors from the outer colonies and resettled
